FOROUX is a design company launched in The Netherlands by Dani Foroux. The brand was born out of a desire to help men and women on their road to greatness. The woman and man on this road is an artist. The artists who paints the ambitions and aspirations that make up his life.
One does not require a creative occupation in the traditional sense; you can be an artist, and never have picked up a brush in your life. Because Artist is a mindset.
The artist is a free-spirited, fearless person who aims for the stars and does not worry about the obstacles of life. Think of figures like Jimi Hendrix, Andy Warhol, Steve Jobs, Kobe Bryant who gifted the world so much beauty.
It is only by the way of a clear mind that one achieves this kind of greatness. And right now, someone out there is working on the next piece of greatness.
It does not matter whether you’re a musician, painter, innovator or an athlete. One does not even require a creative occupation in the traditional sense; you can be an artist, and never have picked up a brush in your life. Because Artist is a mindset.
Today, FOROUX is a design company, focused on designing innovative objects, spaces, and apparel for men and women.
In 2018 we released a silhouette called the Sofia. And in line with today’s vision, we designed the shoes for the modern woman as the artist.
The concept was a fusion between a stiletto and sneaker. The shoes are designed for the modern era where those with a free mind are redefining the status quo. For those who keep pushing the limits of what women wear in various places and spheres. For the women who lead new movements and make life better for all of us.
While designing women’s shoes, Dani desired a uniform for his work and life as artist and designer. He searched for a lightweight garment, without buttons and traditional collar. Simplicity was what he looked for (simplicity should not be confused with “simple”).
So, while still working on women’s footwear, Dani designed the garment that he envisioned. He thought: “If you can’t find something, why not create it yourself?” That something became the Type Sans Serif.
When other guys saw the piece, they became excited. They responded: “Why don’t you produce and sell this as part of your brand?”
It was the demand for this design that inspired our expansion, or pivot, to menswear. Before we knew it, we had completed a focused collection, consisting of just two essential designs: The Type Serif was added to the collection.
Then, to ensure top quality and craftsmanship, we decided to hand produce the clothes in The Netherlands, using the best fabrics from Northern Italy. We even produce our luxurious packaging in The Netherlands.
